Good to know
Chilis are arguably the most popular spice in the world and are consumed 20 times more often than any other spice. There are more than 3000 chilli varieties in the world. The consumption of spicy chillies can also be trained by gradually approaching hotter types. The Roshni is a chili for advanced users as it is already noticeably spicy – similar to cayenne pepper. Chilis owe their spiciness to capsaicin, which is mainly found in the seeds and partitions. The spiciness varies from mild to ultra-hot and is measured in Scoville – Scoville reflects the ratio between the liquid used to determine and dilute, with the Roshni chili taking 38,000 ml of water to stop measuring spiciness at 1ml of the chilli.
