Good to know
A masala is a spice preparation from Indian cuisine and the blend Biryani Masala is best translated with "fried spice". Biryanis are rice dishes where the rice is fried before cooking. Chicken Biryani is probably one of the most famous dishes cooked at many Indian festivals – but variants with lamb or vegetables are also common. There are no limits to creativity here.
-
Usage
The powder is roasted in ghee or oil to awaken the aromas. Alternatively, dissolve 4 tsp in 1/2 cup lukewarm water and add to the food.
-
Full taste development
Add the Biryani masala as a liquid or powder to the pan and then add the rice.
-
Tipp
In a frying pan, heat a whole cinnamon stick, a nutmeg, an Indian bay leaf, a red chilli, black cardamom and a chopped onion. Then add the rice with Biryani Masala and enjoy.
